Dr. Glenn Gordinier is the Robert G. Albion Historian at Mystic Seaport Museum. A museum staffer for forty-one years, he directs the Munson Institute, has chaired dozens of conferences and symposia, taught the summer museum studies course, served on the Williams Mystic faculty, and written numerous articles and books. He also directed the Role Players Program for ten years. His character, Captain Josiah Gardner, has performed on (or in waters adjacent to) five continents
