The Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport Museum

Watch as Karen Ponelli, Maritime Gallery artist, tells us a little bit about herself and her process in this painting demonstration. She has been painting for over 30 years. For over the past eight consecutive years, her emphasis is on studies in impressionism and she focuses on capturing the peacefulness of nature with paint. Living by the water has inspired her to study the various colors of the atmosphere.

Karen’s work is collected both nationally and internationally. She has had six shows at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in NYC, and was represented by Paul Robinson Fine Arts. She received Third Place Award at the MYC Marine Art Show in 2012 and she has been represented by the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic, CT since 2014.
