Charles W. Morgan: Return to Mystic Seaport

For 70 years the great whaleship Charles W. Morgan was docked at Mystic Seaport, her bow lapped by the gentle waters of the Mystic River. If a ship could dream, she must have imagined herself, again, on the sea, her sails filled with hearty gales, whales breaching the cold blue to welcome her back. That is exactly what she experienced – and more – during her latest 38th Voyage this summer.

Now, returned to her berth at Chubb’s Wharf she has expanded and made even more relevant the maritime history of New England. She has inspired millions with her beauty and grace and reinforced Mystic Seaport’s position as a leader in continuing America’s maritime heritage.
